Binoculars allow excellent moon views, and great viewing of star fields, comets and even deep sky objects. Most binoculars are multipurpose instruments.
You position your telescope to look at the Moon, you see craters, and find that soon as you go to call someone to take a look, they take a look and it is gone. Remember the larger the lens then the heavier the binoculars are likely to be, so this can be a factor when you consider the possibility of carrying these around all day. Many people prefer to carry binoculars around freely, rather than in a case.
Size matters when one considers the mode of birding. Another important number describing binoculars is called field-of-view. Quality night binoculars have an infrared illuminator which increases the available infrared light.
If you are still in your twenties you can probably use all of that 7mm exit pupil above as your pupils will dilate to about that size in very dark conditions, however as you get older your pupil does not dilate more than about 4 to 5 mm so large exit pupils are wasted. So, get out there.
